StudioLab for Adults (Virtual Class)

Instructors: Claire Altendahl, Cass Burgin, Jenny Case & Allegra Wallingford

Calling all folks interested in learning the basics of recording, production and collaborative songwriting; this class is for you! This 3-week Friday evening class will be chock full of the basics of how to write, record and mix a song; all while collaborating virtually.  You will use Soundtrap to interactively learn the basics of recording MIDI instruments. Then, in a group of 2-3, along with a band coach, you will write a song in Soundtrap using all the virtual instruments, beats, loops and more that are built into the software.  Your band will have time during class to work on your music, and plan on arranging at least one additional band rehearsal time each week with your bandmates.

Soundtrap Workshops will include:
Drum Programming
Sampling
Audio recording (guitar, vocals, etc)
Working with virtual instruments

No previous musical experience is necessary AND no previous recording, production or Soundtrap experience is required. A computer, WiFi and headphones are required, but you are welcome to borrow one of our laptops and headphone sets as needed. Classes are held in a stimulating, virtual environment filled with collaboration.   Classes will take place over Zoom.
